TB Lightning will welcome the New Jersey Devils at Amalie Arena, Tampa, FL for the best of seven series opener.
These series have a special flavor as the Devils who really squeezed themselves into the keyhole to reach the playoffs edging the Florida Panthers by a single point - aren't such side kicks as what I said might indicate: they finished the regular season with 7-2-1 run and actually guaranteed themselves the place in the postseason before the last game they could afford to lose. But, on top of all that - they swept the Lightning during the regular season including a 4-3 win at Amalie Arena where the Bolts boast third place tie for most home wins (the other two were 5-4 OT and 2-1 wins at home).
For me what matters here is the firepower the Bolts possess. Kucherov, Point, Gourde and Stamkos present way more diversified offensive options to the Lightning than Hall alone presents to the Devils.
This is a system on the Lightning exploding in the face of the Devils.
